React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces out of reusable components. We use it for SaaS front ends, dashboards and, through React Native, mobile apps, usually paired with a Node.js or Laravel back end.
- Projects
- Kanban Zone (React, Redux and Redux-Saga on Node.js), vPeer (React and Redux on Laravel and MongoDB)
- Mobile
- React Native, one codebase for iOS and Android
- Next.js
- For pages that must be found in search or load fast on first visit
Projects
Kanban Zone is a visual process management tool built on the MERN stack. The front end is React with Redux, with Redux-Saga handling async work such as saving board changes and loading data, on a Node.js and Express back end. Read the case study.
vPeer is a peer-to-peer mentoring platform that started in the education market. React with Redux on the front end, Laravel and MongoDB behind it. Read the case study.
Want MongoDB, Express, React and Node.js from one team? See MERN stack development. Comparing frameworks? See front-end development.
Frequently asked questions
Is React a good choice for a SaaS product?
Usually, yes. React handles the interactive, data-heavy screens SaaS products are made of, such as boards, tables and filters, and it has the largest pool of developers to hire later. Kanban Zone, a SaaS tool we built, uses React with Redux for exactly this kind of interface.
React or Next.js?
Next.js is a framework built on React. Use it when pages need to be indexed by search engines or load fast on first visit, such as marketing pages, docs and stores. A logged-in dashboard that nobody needs to find through Google can stay a plain React single-page app.
Can you take over an existing React codebase?
Yes. We start with a short audit of dependencies, state management, tests and build setup, then fix what blocks day-to-day work first. Outdated packages and missing tests are the usual problems, and we upgrade them in small steps rather than a rewrite.
Do you build mobile apps with React Native?
Yes. React Native lets one codebase ship to iOS and Android, and it can share logic with a React web app. We also build native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) apps when a project needs them. See mobile app development.
How do you manage state in a large React app?
It depends on the app. Kanban Zone and vPeer use Redux, with Redux-Saga for async flows on Kanban Zone. For newer projects, server data often lives in a query cache and only true client state goes into a store, which keeps the code smaller.
